These days, you can find a lot of TV shows that revolve around dogs. While these TV shows tend to feature the funny, sad and comedic aspects of a dog, they seldom cover the dog's mastery of semantics and language. It turns out that a dog's brain works similar to a human brain when it comes to interpreting and processing language. This is according to a report by NPR. In other words, your dog really understands when you say "Good boy!" However, that's not even the most exciting part.

According to the NPR's report, they placed EEG sensors on several canines’ heads to see how the dogs’ brains react when being spoken to. A dog doesn't simply recognize the words, but rather they process everything from tone, words, and context.

Some dog owners are not really surprised by NPR's report. After all, they probably tested saying "good boy" on their own and got a cheerful face. Furthermore, a dog also knows if it has done something that is considered "bad."

Below are some pictures of dogs that will prove they actually understand the phrase "good boy."
