Amazon’s Prime Day will be held on July 16. Prime Day is the annual sales event by Amazon and the 2018 edition is expected to be the biggest ever. This year’s event will feature millions of deals. There’s also a big change in length compared to last year. Last year, Prime Day ran for 30 hours while this year shoppers will get an additional 6 hours. This will be the longest Prime Day to date.
Amazon is also thinking of expanding the event into new markets like Luxembourg, Australia, Singapore, and the Netherlands. The other traditional countries that have always enjoyed Prime Day will be retained. Some of these countries include the US, the UK, India, Japan, Mexico, France, Germany, Canada, China, Austria, and Belgium.
Amazon wants to offer customers deals that cut across all its categories like TVs, kitchen products, fashion, furniture, grocery, back-to-school supplies, and appliances. The retail giant has also revealed that it will offer “double the deals” for its Amazon devices. The company says that it will offer the lowest price to date for the Amazon Echo, the Fire tablets, and the Fire TV. This expanded number of deals has been credited to Amazon’s increased ownership of hardware brands. For example, at the start of the year, Amazon confirmed the acquisition of smart doorbell maker Ring. Amazon also acquired the smart camera and doorbell startup Blink.
This has increased the diversity of home security smart products available to the retail giant and it’s very likely that all these products will be a very central part of Prime Day this year. Amazon’s originally owned products such as Echo Dot and Amazon Cloud Cam will also be available. The online retailer has announced that it will be bring Prime Day to Whole Foods too. Prime Members who will shop in-store at Whole Foods will have the chance to save up to 10% in hundreds of sales items. Other deep discounts on popular products will also be offered by the company.
According to Amazon, Plus Prime Rewards Visa Card holders will get double the rewards in any in-store purchases at Whole Foods. They will enjoy a 10% back discount from July, 14th to July, 17th. A few known brands will unveil new products, special edition products, and new content as part of Prime Day 2018. First, the new Delta Trinsic Touch2O, the first ever Alexa-enabled kitchen faucet, will be launched on Prime Day.
In addition to this, the Coleman RoadTrip LXE Portable grill will also be available. Some new shows are going to be released on Prime Day. Hi Bob!, a show featuring Bob Newhart sitting down with guests Will Ferrell, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Lisa Kudrow, and others will also be premiering on Prime Day 2018. Finally, Amazon will add 50% more spotlight deals on this year’s event. For shoppers who love sales events, Prime Day is the biggest of them all and in 2018 it could get even bigger.
