Apple has announced the next generation of its iPhones putting an end to months of speculation. One of the phones revealed during the event yesterday is now the biggest iPhone ever. Two new models called iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are now available. Although they look almost identical to the iPhone X, there are a few distinguishing features to keep in mind. First, both these phones are available in gold, but more importantly, XS Max is huge. This is not just the biggest iPhone so fat but it’s also among the biggest smartphones available in the market at the moment.
However, there was also a third model that came out yesterday. This one is a low-end, cheaper option. The phone is called iPhone XR and even though there’s so much that has been said about it, in this post we are only going to focus on the other two, the XS and the XS Max. These two iPhones are largely defined by the spec upgrade that they have received. Display, for example, has better dynamic display range. The stereo sound is better from the speaker and we are also seeing a faster Face ID.
The new A12 Bionic processor from Apple that has six cores appears to have made all the difference when it comes to processing speeds for the new devices. This next generation processor is one of a kind and perhaps the most advanced in the market. Despite all these spec changes, there’s no doubt that the big news is the introduction of the bigger model, the XS Max. The screen measures 6.5 inches and it’s way bigger than the iPhone 8 Plus which had a 5.5-inch screen. It’s also bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that features 6.4-inch display.
It doesn’t come as a surprise though that Apple has decided to offer a bigger phone. People love big screens. In fact, most users who will upgrade to the XS Max will probably do so because of the bigger screen. Although it has taken fairly long for Apple to realize this, it seems the company is starting to toe the line as far as customer needs go. It’s also important to note that when we talk about the “biggest iPhone yet” we are referring to the screen size. Apple has done well to offer a wider screen ratio compared to previous models but this hasn’t necessarily led to bigger phones, only bigger screens. For example, the iPhone XS comes with a 5.8-inch screen but it’s slightly smaller in size compared to the iPhone 8 Plus that has a 5.5-inch screen.
The XS and the XS Max will also feature new camera systems. The wide-angle rear camera will still retain the features of its predecessor but now it will also be able to use a new sensor with larger pixels and a wider aperture. The two phones will also come with dual-SIM support, another first for Apple. The phones are available in three capacities: 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.
