Wondering how long the two of you will last? Here’s a site that may provide some insight. Source: Wired

Black Mirror is one of the most popular TV shows at the moment. Its futuristic plot and cinematography have gotten many people hooked over the last few years. However, it’s the show’s episode “Hang the DJ” in season 4 that’s making news. It was a great episode but we are talking about it here for a completely different reason.

The Black Mirror episode has inspired a new website that can tell you how long your relationship will last. The “Hang the DJ” episode for those who have watched the show had a dating service called Coach. Coach had the ability to determine how long a relationship will last.

The website promises to do the same thing. The website is called coach.dating and it’s trying to help couples know how long their relationships will last. We can’t verify the efficacy of the system or whether it works or not. But as soon as you get there, the first thing you are asked to do is to put your trust in the system.

But it’s not something you can do your own. To use Coach, your partner must also visit the website. The link is shared with your partner and both of you will be prompted to click it. The system will be able to see how many years, months or days are left before the bitter break up. However, if couples click the link at the same time simultaneously, then their lives are bonded forever. To be honest, in practice you can’t expect that people will click the link at the same time.

In addition to this, deciding how long a relationship will last based on this alone is a bit unconventional. But we decided to have some fun with the system and see just how long our relationships will last. A number of guys from our team gave the dating service a try and the results were as funny as they were intriguing.

Some relationships only had as low as 26 minutes left while others went over and beyond 17 years. The Coach website allows you to download a .jpg image of the results so you can share it with friends or your partner if you want.

Some people would just close the tab and make nothing of what they had seen. Some might see this as a wake-up call. After all, we all know where we are in our relationships. But then again, it’s just a system. There’s no artificial intelligence technology here or some analytical software that tracks your life’s events to see when you will break up. Even if such a system existed, its estimate would be way off considering how dynamic human behavior can be. But it’s a fun thing to do. You can visit the site and try it out for yourself.
