Just recently, Microsoft conducted its annual Ignite conference where they got the chance to show developers and IT professionals what’s in the pipeline and also convince potential customers to use their line of products.

However, one of the attempts of the company to prove how reliable their services are did not go as expected. The presentation for Azure, Microsoft's cloud service, was interrupted a number of times as the browser of the company, Edge, kept on crashing.

After the presenter Michael Leary tried to move on with the presentation despite the multiple crashes, he was left with no choice but to download and use Google Chrome instead.

You can imagine the response of the audience. This incident definitely garnered plenty of laughs not just from the crowd, but also from Leary himself. Fortunately, Leary kept his composure.

What happened made us cringe, which is why it is worth noting how Leary managed to keep his cool for the rest of the presentation. Not everyone can handle the tense moments and embarrassment that Leary had to go through when Edge kept on crashing, forcing him to download Chrome. Leary even made jokes about it, and he admitted that the Edge browser still needs improvement.

Microsoft Edge benefited greatly from Fall Creators Update, which was released just recently for Windows 10. The company added lots of improvements and upgrades to their software to make the browser as reliable and efficient as possible. However, it seems that they still need to put in lots of working hours because there are still some web pages that don’t work as they should.

With all the laughter surrounding the little incident, it is hard to say whether consumers left the presentation with a good impression of Azure cloud service. After all, it was why there was a presentation.

Still an Excellent Browser

Even with this crash, Edge should be taken seriously because it is still an excellent browser with lots of features that you should check out. Although Google Chrome may already be miles ahead of Edge and its other competitors, Microsoft Edge has already proven that it has the capability of catching up or even taking the lead.
