The sticker will let your friends submit questions for you to answer in your story post. It’s more or less like the polling feature introduced in October but it’s a little bit more personalized.
According to Instagram, the questions sticker is a way to start conversations with friends when you can’t find a video or a photo to share via stories. In other words, Instagram wants you to keep sharing and posting even when you don’t have any content. You can access the new feature on the sticker drawer. Simply tap it and then type out a prompt and place it on your post. Friends will now be able to see the response. In order for them to respond, they will have tap it and send the replies as needed. The replies will appear along with the list of the people who have viewed your post. We found this to be somewhat confusing but you will find your way around it.
You will be able to see the replies at the bottom left corner of the post together with the name of friends who have responded. Once the questions have been answered you can decide to update them or create new ones right from the sticker drawer. There are no restrictions as to how the questions can be answered. Once the question is inserted into stories, your friends will have the freedom to answer as they see fit. The new feature will also allow you to know who is asking questions about you. However, you won’t be able to see their username or profile photos.
Instagram confirmed that it’s rolling out the new feature on both Android and iOS starting today. All users should be able to find and use it very easily. Instagram has made a number of changes to its platform in the recent months in an effort to increase user engagement.
