Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just got engaged. The actor popped the question during a romantic Valentine’s Day surprise. Perry has since confirmed the news showing off the shiny ring on social media: “Full bloom”, the pop singer wrote on her Instagram profile alongside a snapshot of the couple.
The picture did also reveal a few details about the ring which appeared to have a colorful center stone surrounded by several diamonds. Orlando Bloom also confirmed the news on social media sharing the same photo with his fans too.
From the details we have so far, it looks like the actor pulled off quite a romantic proposal too. The picture of the couple announcing their engagement featured a number of heart-shaped red balloons in the background. By the looks of it, it seems like the proposal was very heartwarming. The news was also confirmed on social media by Katy’s mom Mary Hudson. Hudson shared a number of pictures on the proposal on her Facebook page. The pictures showed Katy cuddling with her new fiancé under a giant heart-shaped floral arrangement.
Perry didn’t leave anything to chance either as she came in dressed to the occasion. It was presumably a Valentine’s Day dinner so it’s not hard to see why she was already flashy. She was wearing a stunning pink gown designed by Alessandra Rich. She also accessorized her glamorous look with beautiful heart-shaped earrings. Fans on social media were quick to send in their messages of congratulations to the couple.</p>
But this wasn’t the only thing that Perry was celebrating on Valentine’s night. The singer also released her new song with Zedd titled “365.”
The engagement came a few days after Perry expressed her desire to marry again during an interview with Paper Magazine. The singer said that she had been married at 25 and even though things didn’t work out as she had hoped, a lot of time has already passed. Perry, who’s now 34, felt that she was ready for another big commitment almost ten years after her first one. She added that she’s now a very different person from who she was a decade ago.
The relationship between the two had managed to stay under the radar for a while but obviously something special was simmering. The suspicion that the two could be an item started to surface early last year when the couple was spotted canoodling at the Golden Globe Awards after party. The relationship would later be confirmed by a source close to the couple in February 2018.
After that they started to spend time together. At one time Perry even moved with Bloom to England for some events before they returned to the United States. Bloom just like Perry has also been married before. The 42-year-old actor was married with model Miranda Kerr for three years. Perry, on the other hand, had a short-lived marriage with Russell Brand that lasted only 14 months. A date for the wedding is expected to be announced soon.
