Microsoft has announced that it is rolling out a new Office app for iOS and Android. The new app, according to the company, will combine all Office apps on one roof. In the past, you had to download different Office applications individually.
In essence, if you needed MS Word, for example, there was a single app for that and the same applied to all the other Office applications. But with this latest announcement, you will be able to get all Office apps with one single download.
We have been testing out the new app and it looks great. The app could also be a great central hub for Microsoft to finally popularize some of the upgrades it’s been adding to Office. We also noted that there is a new prominent action section that adds new functions to the app.
The section allows users to transfer files from their PC to a phone. Some functions allow you to convert images into tables or texts and pictures into PDFs.
Even though some of these features were already available in most Office apps, Microsoft says that the new central hub will make them much more visible. In the long run, the number of users taking advantage of them is expected to increase.
Microsoft has also unveiled a new logo for Office. The company has been playing around with the logo over the last 12 months and it seems like the company has settled on a design. The new logo is more colorful and vibrant as well. It has also been included in the new app and is expected to roll out in all Office applications over the coming months.
